Let's talk about... Our Oksana Mukha Collection

Hello everyone and welcome to our new weekly Angelo Bridal blog! Here we will be sharing lots more information on our products than we can fit into our main website, as well as lots of styling tips and tricks and will take you behind the scenes at Angelo Bridal. Today we'll be discussing our gorgeous Oksana Mukha dresses, of which we are the exclusive stockists in the Republic of Ireland, and why one of them just might just be your dream dress! This collection is fashion forward, modern and feminine with lots of unique details which make each dress as special as the bride wearing them.

About Oksana Mukha

Oksana Mukha is a family run business which for three decades has been at the epicentre of luxurious bridal fashion and has played a key role in the evolution of bridal haute couture. The company was formed following the designer's creation of her own wedding dress on the eve of her wedding. Today, her unique style is recognisable by the subtle floral detailing, ornate embroidery and chic draping. We currently have five of her beautiful designs in store which we hope you love as much as we do!

1. Love

Love is a glitzy a-line style with a plunging v-neck, v-back and semi-sheer bodice. The fitted underskirt as well as the outer dress feature daring slits to show off a bit of leg and to provide some ventilation to keep you cool. The entire dress is decorated with subtle lace motifs and shimmering clear sequins. The bodice features additional silver beading and romantic floral embroidery. There is a sheer cutout detail under both of the arms which creates a modern silhouette and has the additional benefit of ensuring that you don't need to worry about sweating on the day and leaving marks on the dress.

This lightweight style would look incredible at an outdoor summer wedding where the clear sequins will shimmer to great effect in the bright sunlight. The slit and cutouts will also ensure that you keep cool on the day. For a summery look, this dress could look amazing paired with a delicate leafy headband, strappy sandals and a flowing plain veil. It's also equally easy to imagine this dress at an indoor winter wedding, perhaps at a swanky hotel with a black tie theme, where the silver beading and sequins could take on a more icy look paired with sparkling silver stilettos and a glittering silver veil.

2. Ida

Ida is a sharp, fashion-forward wedding dress for a stylish bride who isn't afraid to stand out. The shoulder pads add a fierceness to the silhoutte while the slit, open back and deeply plunging neckline show lots of skin. The neckline features nude mesh to add some support to the bust as well as a high, decorative collar (shown on the model with an added flower). This dress is made from a stretchy crepe material and has a small puddle train which allows for ease of movement all day.

Ida is an ideal dress for a sophisticated city wedding. It would fit right into wedding photos at New York's Central Park or outside Dublin's own City Hall, perhaps in the Autumn when it is still warm enough during the day to wear a dress with a slit and open back but nippy enough in the evening that you may want your arms to be covered. This dress calls for an eye catching shoe, perhaps a bold platform heel or open toed style to show off a fabulous pedicure. This dress would also look amazing with a bold geometric headdress or hair slide as opposed to a traditional veil.

3. Sandra

Sandra is a very unusual bridal gown. It features a short inner skirt with a flowing tiered babydoll skirt over it, which is made from unique cobweb lace. The structured bodice is strapless and features a sweetheart neckline with a deep plunge and the midriff area is semi-sheer. There are subtle leaf details as well as 3D flowers and intricate silver beadwork on the bodice which gives the dress a fairy-like quality. Owning to its unusual fabric, floral detailing and airy silhouette, it would be an ideal choice for a boho bride dreaming of an outdoor, woodland wedding or a wedding with a festival theme.

This dress is ideally suited to laid back, free spirited bride who loves to party. A hairpiece made from real flowers and and comfy gold sandals would complete the boho look. This dress is also a great option if you have a special necklace you want to wear on your wedding day, perhaps an heirloom piece as your 'something old'.

4. Victoria

Victoria is an irresistibly sexy, minimalist gown, featuring a head-turningly high slit and trendy cat eye neckline. The boned bodice combined with the full skirt and train creates a tiny waist and the small bow on the belt adds a touch of femininity to an otherwise very sharp design.

Owing to its lack of embellishment, this dress is suitable for lots of different wedding themes, venues and seasons. For a dramatic look it could be paired with a lacy cathedral veil with 3D flowers to add some embellisment to the train. For a more catwalk inspired look, this dress could be also be worn with a short, plain veil.

The slit will draw lots of attention to the shoes so an eye catching pair is key to bringing the whole look together. This unembellished style also lends itself well to statement accessories of all kinds, think long gloves, statement necklaces, dangling earrings or jewelled tiaras.

5. Athena

Athena is a sheath style gown with a fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline. The bodice features carefully considered gathering which creates texture and the large off-shoulder straps create a romantic look. The best part about Athena is the detachable overskirt with an eye catching crystal belt which allows you to have two looks in one; a princess look with a large train and full skirt as well as a sleek form fitting one. The entire gown as well as the overskirt is covered in a fine layer of silver glitter which will sparkle all day and into the night.

Athena in Greek mythology is the goddess of wisdom, handicraft and war. This goddess is often portrayed as urban and civilised, the anthesis of the goddess Artemis, goddess of the outdoors. This is a dress for an impressive, striking bride who appreciates fine draping and intelligent design choices. This dress is an ideal choice for brides whose weddings take place at multiple venues for example, a church wedding followed by a hotel reception or a destination wedding ceremony followed by a reception back home, as you can wear the overskirt for one part of the wedding and then remove it for a totally different look for the rest of the event. This dress is well suited to being paired with statement earrings or, in keeping with the name of the dress, a Greek goddess inspired hairpiece.
