Monday was a very exciting night for us as we attended the weddingsonline Awards at the Mullingar Park Hotel in Westmeath. This was our first time attending the awards, where we were nominated both in the Bridalwear Supplier and Bridesmaid Supplier categories.

What is weddingsonline?

We highly recommend that anyone getting married visits weddingsonline.ie. Launched in 2000, weddingsonline and has become Ireland’s most loved wedding community, connecting couples with the perfect wedding suppliers. They run the wildly popular Facebook group HIGM (weddingsonline.ie - Help! I'm getting married), an online wedding directory, competitions and feature real weddings to inspire you on their website and social media. They also share daily tips and advice on everything from suits and wedding dress trends to budget friendly decor. Weddingsonline has your entire wedding journey covered! As the leading authority on all things wedding, weddingsonline are frequently featured in the media as experts in the Irish wedding industry including on Ireland AM, The Irish Independent, Her.ie and Joe.ie. The weddingsonline Awards launched in 2008 and have become the industry standard. They are now a permanent fixture in both the diaries of Ireland’s wedding industry professionals as well couples planning their weddings.

The Awards

The black tie event began with a drinks reception in the hotel lobby beneath a dazzling chandelier, where we arrived to a buzz of activity with champagne flowing in every direction. After snapping a few shots for social media we were ushered into the beautiful ballroom of the hotel which was lit with moody purple lighting. We were informed that the winners would be announced during dessert. The suspense was killing us but the lovely meal soon calmed everyones nerves. We were served a selection of mini starters to begin with including pate, a mini Caesar salad and salmon and had the option of chicken or beef for our mains.

We both chose the beef and it was delicious. Over dinner we got chatting with Aisling from Ashwood events who does wedding and event styling who showed us some of her beautiful creations made for weddings and other special occasions (check out her Instagram here!). We also chatted with representatives of Farnham Estate who were nominated in the country house category. Check out their Instagram here! We were treated to a selection of desserts for our final course as the countdown began to the awards being announced.

We finished up the night soon after the winners were announced as we had to return to Dublin the same night. We said our goodbyes to the other nominees as they headed out on the dance floor to celebrate. Judging by the videos taken on the night, it seems that a good time was had by all. While we didn't win anything this year, we were delighted to have been invited and would like to thank all of our lovely customers for nominating us. We would like to congratulate Presley Blue on winning in the Bridesmaid Supplier category and to Lamelia Bridal Studios for winning in the Bridalwear Supplier category. We would also like to congratulate all of the other winners and would like to thank weddingsonline for organising the event. We hope we get a chance to return next year!

See you back next week for our next blog post!
